I am writing in response to your advertisement in the May 9 Daily Prophet. I would like to be considered for the position as column writer in your magazine JUST WOMAN. I hope you find that my studies in contemporary literature at London University, along with my writing experience in writer contest, would qualify me for the position.
I am a professional writer. I graduated from London University last year. During my studies I took part in a number of essay competition and writing contest with excellent critics and two first places. Also, I have participated writing in the newsletter of the university. Since I left the university I have worked writing a report THE TIME, however, I could easily have enough time to write for your magazine.
Due to my good critic, I could deal with all kind of readers. In addition, I could write different topics once a week. Apart from that, I have creative ideas to implement in the column, such as ask people which topic they want that I write about.

Letter 'Antarctic Cruise'

Dear Sir,

                I am writing to ask you for more information about the ‘Antarctic Cruise’ which I saw advertised in Memorable Holidays. I am very interested in the holiday, but I would like some more details.

                Firstly, I would like to go with my grandparents between July and August this year, provided that there are starting dates for the trip on those months. In that case, I was wondering how much it costs and if there are any extra activities included in the price.

                Secondly, I would be grateful if you could tell me what kind of accommodation is offered. I would rather get a double room, one for my grandparents and another for me. Also, you said that the package includes food, could you possible give me details about what kind of food there might be?

                Thirdly, as the trip is in a cruise, I was wondering if there is a weight limit for the baggage and as I would like to go with my grandparents, I am slightly worried about their health and security, so please, could you tell me how safe the trip is?

                Finally, I do not speak very well Spanish, so I would like to know if the guides speak English, in other case, I won’t understand their description and information of the cruise or places in Antarctic given by them.

Music can heal people

Nowadays, people know that listening to a certain kind of music produces an effect in the personality, these effects can be very useful because music can heal people.

On the other side, some people think that these effects can be used in a wrong ways: To control human minds. Despite that, some people are aware of it, they know that because, for example, supermarkets use a kind of music to increase their productions and sales.

However, this is not the only way to use these things, they can also have many benefits such as healing people. In this case, this kind of music is used in therapies or yoga classes because it causes a relaxing effect which is very useful. These classes without this music do not have the same efficiency.

To conclude, the effects of music can be used in a wrong or a good way, of the first one we need to be aware. The second one is use for cure people or relax. Just take a breath, put a relaxing song and notice the difference.

Jonas are BACK!

-Description of an event-

I went to Viña Festival 3 weeks ago because my favorite group was going to be there. It is an important latinoamerican festival where famous bands come to play their music and they can take awards from the event, also there are national and international music competitions. It lasts a whole week that takes place in Viña del Mar at the end of February. You can see it on tv if you can't attend to the event.

I had to wait on a long row since the midday until 7 o'clock in the afternoon, time when the security of that place opened the entry of Quinta Vergara. When I finally could pass, I just run to take good places to see the show, the worst thing was when I had to walk up a long stair and the best thing was that I went with a group of friends who like the same band as me. The event started at 10 pm, but we had to keep waiting for the Jonas Brothers show until 1 am.

Even all the waiting, we could pass from the gallery to better places which were near the stage, so we could see the Jonas Brothers show with a fantastic view. They got all the awards, of course, and the best part of the show was when we throw white balloons to the sky in a song, they were very surprised because they never expected that.

It was perfect, there were 2 and half years of waiting to see them again, performing together in Chile. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. It didn't matter the long waiting under sun or the frozen weather at night because I had a great time with my friends and at the end I had a big smile on my face.

Which one is better: Humanities or science?

Through the years many people tend to discuss because some of them think that science is more important than humanities and all the way around, but the thing is that science and humanities have the same importance.

Probably humanities tend to be ignored or even depreciated by scientists, it could happen because science is more exactly and concrete than humanities, which are abstract. As a result, scientists think they are more intelligent because people believe that science is more difficult to understand.

Science without humanities cannot exist. To create science is necessary the communication, use words, talk and so on, and all these things are related to humanities. It is the base of everything that humans do.

As a conclusion, I think that booth, humanities and science, complement each other. They have their own difficulty because, for example, some humanists don’t understand science and, of course, there are scientists that cannot understand humanist things.
